How to use Gemini
- Open the Gemini app or go to gemini.google.
- Sign in with your Google Account. The free plan costs nothing.
- Type or speak your request, and add the context: who it is for, the tone and the length.
- Try Canvas when you want to edit a draft, and Deep Research for bigger questions.
- Create a Gem for a job you repeat, such as replying to customer enquiries.
- On a paid plan, use Gemini inside Gmail and Docs to draft and summarise.
- Check key facts, prices and dates against the sources it lists before you rely on them.
- Only upgrade if you hit the limits. AI Plus is the smallest step.
